Hua Thanon is a traditional Koh Samui
village and that means one thing and one
thing alone – fishing. The original settlers
of the island came here from China and
survived s fisherman families. In Hua Thanon,
not much has changed.
Visitors from around the world do want to
stay here, attracted as they are to the laid
back and other worldly way of life. For
them, there is a choice of accommodation
opportunities. Centara Villas, Samui is a
good villa rental choice from the prominent
Centara Group who you’ll see all over Samui
and Thailand. Previously known as Central
Samui Village, Centara Villas is 17km from
Chaweng and 27 km from Koh Samui
International Airport. It’s one of the more
removed places to stay on the island.
There are things to do here other than fish,
people watch, or live it up in your private
villa. Natien Beach is close by – a quiet
stretch of sand if ever there was one. The
Butterfly Garden is on Natien Beach. The
kids love it.
Hua Thanon is a good place to stay if you
want some quiet and some authenticity in
addition to the escapism of the beach front.
The accommodation does extend beyond Centara
to a few smaller places in the area at a
lower cost. Beach bungalows are a Samui
tradition and are improving in standards
along with the island.
